Getting to Salem from Boston’s Logan Airport

There are several ways to get to the university from Logan airport—train, taxi/Uber/Lyft, subway, and bus.

  • Taxi/Uber/Lyft to Hawthorne Hotel or Salem University: $40–50.
  • Train to Salem from North Station (Boston): take the Blue Line Airport Shuttle (Free); then, Blue Line to the Orange Line, then Orange Line to North Station ($3–$4). Train to Salem ($7–$8). Then taxi to Hawthorne Hotel or the University, Charlotte Fortin Hall ($5–$6).
  • Bus: From airport take the Blue Line Shuttle (free), Blue Line to Wonderland (final stop), Bus 455 to Salem Depot (total $6–$7). Bus stops at University (Charlotte Fortin Hall); final stop Salem Depot (10-minute walk to Hawthorne Hotel or cab/Uber ($5).

Getting into Boston from Salem

  • Train from Salem Depot to North Station, 25–35 minutes ($7).
  • Ferry from Salem Ferry Landing to Long Wharf, Boston: 90 minutes ($10). From Long Wharf you can walk to major parts of the city, including Boston Commons, State House, historic Faneuil Hall.
